Out Story

The Guacamaya Spanish School opened its doors in 1999 as response to the growing popularity of visitors to the City of Copan Ruians founded by its 3 original Spanish teachers. Over the years as demand for immersive learning from native speakers grew, our school brought in more caring and talented instructors, now having 16 teachers who help students from all over the world learn how to speak Spanish.

In the early years the school rented class rooms, however since, we how have our own, homey and welcoming school space with 10 classrooms. The school is located six blocks from the central park with easy access to the different places of interest that are in the community.

As part of language and cultural immersion, the school places students students with local families, who were trained adequately to receive people from different parts of the world and adapt to your needs and interests. Currently we have 18 families who work for the school who have 15 or more years of experience serving high school students different nationalities.
